It's an extraordinary magazine for curious kids! October 30, 2002 fair_deal_guy (Prior Lake, MN USA) 321 out of 397 found this review helpful
The folks at National Geographic have a well-deserved reputation for excellence and it continues full-steam with this GREAT publication. Unlike a lot of kids' magazines in which the editorial content is nothing but filler between video game ads, National Geographic World is the sharpest, best-produced kids' magazine on the market. Each issue is packed with genuinely interesting stuff. The writers never preach or talk down to their audience. And just like its parent publication, National Geographic World is full of great photography. The design is first-rate and it avoids the trend chasing that dooms competitors to being virtually unreadable thanks to poor design. In 10 years, each issue will look as fresh and dignified as it does today. This is a superb publication, and with so many kids' magazines glorifying belly baring pop musicians, doling out sex advice to 12-year-olds, and hawking violent video games, this is a wonderful breath of fresh air. (Be forewarned that this is not a magazine aimed at younger children. I'd recommend it for kids 7-8 and older. Even then, some of the content is geared toward for pre-teens and early teens--although there's nothing that will scare or trouble the younger set.)
my 9 year old loves this magazine December 16, 2005 Arianna 20 out of 27 found this review helpful
OK, the advertisements are a bit much, but the magazine is great. My son has subscriptions to Cricket and Kids Discover, too. He has had many other magazine subscriptions over the years, and this one stands out to me because, unprompted, he has always found fun information that he felt was worth sharing. This magazine was also a favorite with my niece who does not like to read at all. The magazine format is easy to read, yet rich in content.
My son loves it !!! February 9, 2008 Sampath Deva (Manchester, NH USA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Kids magazine is my son's favorite. He throughly reads the magazine front to to back and shares the information with me. Cool inventions, Guinness world records, and Funny Fill-in are are his most favorite sections in the magazine.
Wonderful kidsý magazine January 12, 2003 Walter Reade (Appleton, WI United States) 30 out of 45 found this review helpful
This is simply a fantastic magazine for kids. The content is very diverse, ranging form informative articles, jokes, reader interaction, news, amazing animal tricks, cool things kids around the world have done, movie reviews, the environment, games, etc. It is the perfect length for kids to be able to finish each issue. It has a light and friendly layout, and large, colorful pictures. This magazine gets plenty of use at our house.
MY 2 YR. OLD GRANDSON LOVES THIS MAGAZINE! August 26, 2010 Wanda Goodfellow I bought this magazine for my 2 yr. old grandson and he absolutely loves it. Me and Grandpa love reading it too. The pictures are fantastic and it has great articles in it. The reviews I read on this were from years ago so NGK must have improved since then because the magazine isn't full of ads like they complained of. I recommend this magazine for all kids, young and old.
